Radishes

Radishes are root vegetables that are part of the mustard family, or cruciferae. They are annual or biennial plants with swollen taproots that can be cylindrical, globular, or tapering. The skin of radishes can be many colors, including white, pink, red, purple, yellow, green, and black, but the flesh is usually white. Radishes have a short, hairy stem and a rosette of oblong leaves that grow horizontally at ground level. The top leaves of the plant are smaller and lance-like. Radishes also produce purple or pink flowers on racemes that produce 2–12 oval, reddish brown seeds that are slightly flattened
