Parwal, also known as pointed gourd, is a small to medium-sized vegetable with a yellowish-green rind and creamy white flesh. It’s slightly pointed at one end and blunt at the other, and can be globose or oblong in shape. The rind is smooth and can be solid or have light stripes running lengthwise. When young, the rind is yellow-green, but turns burnt orange when the parwal is mature. The flesh is moist and firm, with a central cavity filled with small, slippery ivory seeds. Parwal has a bland flavor, so it absorbs other flavors well while cooking and has a soft texture when cooked
